CDS Group launches an eco‐program

CDS Group launches an ecological program for waste collection and recycling. In its housing developments, containers will appear for collecting plastic and waste paper. Their contents will be sent for recycling. The first green facilities are located in the Kantemirovsky housing development.

CDS Group announces the launch of an ecological program for collection and recycling of plastic and waste paper. Special containers for household chemicals’ plastic bottles and cans marked 01, 02 and 04, as well as for waste paper: newspapers, magazines, cardboard and other paper products will be installed at housing developments.

The collected materials from filled containers will be sent for recycling. The first green facilities were mounted in the Kantemirovsky housing development at the addresses: 7 Kushelevskaya road, block 6 and 5 Kushelevskaya road, block 3.

“This significant step towards the environmental care opened the way for our environmental program,” Olga Matalytskaya, director of Advertising, PR, and Branding at CDS Group, comments. “As a full‐cycle company that designs, builds, and manages its buildings, we understand the importance of consistent actions to create a positive environment. Construction is not only a business, but also a responsibility to people and the world around us for the legacy we will leave to the planet. Soon, similar containers will appear in other CDS Group housing developments in St. Petersburg.”

“It was important for us when we launched the program that plastic and waste paper were really sent for recycling, and not end their lives in a waste deposit, as it often happened,” Natalya Kukushkina, CDS Group marketing specialist, said. “That is why we work only with well‐proven contractors who really collect and send the contents of containers for recycling. We must be sure that the materials used will find a new life. For our partners this is an income‐generating business, so waste is collected and recycled without the financial contribution of residents.”

Kantemirovsky is a spacious residential quarter on the border of the Kalininsky and Central districts of St. Petersburg, located near two metro stations: Lesnaya and Ploshchad Muzhestva. Eight modern brick buildings made up of units of various height ranging from 13 to 25 storeys are designed for 4,500 apartments. There are also playgrounds, sports areas and several underground parking facilities in the neighborhood.
