HSCS&EES appreciated the CDS Group’s success in construction control digitalization
On Thursday, September 24, the Head of the State Construction Supervision and Expert Examination Service of St. Petersburg Vladimir Boldyrev visited the construction site of the Chornaya Rechka business class residential quarter. During his visit, the head of the supervisory authority emphasized the developer’s fulfilment of sanitary requirements at the site, the compliance with the construction work schedule and the absence of any comments from the State Construction Supervision and Expert Examination Service. Vladimir Boldyrev also became acquainted with CDS Group’s solutions related to digitalization of construction control and design supervision.
“Under the recommendation of the Ministry of Construction, a mission to introduce a system of digital supervision was assigned to the State Construction Supervision and Expert Examination Service. By the end of October, the task force of the authority will draw up the design specification for such a system, and by the end of the year it will be used at a specific site under construction. Our agency faces challenging tasks to transfer all state construction supervision into a digital format in 2021. Today, the management of CDS Group was asked about special features of the development and use of their system, since today this developer is at the forefront of the construction control digitalization process,” Vladimir Boldyrev said.
As mentioned by Venera Khadeeva, CDS Group Deputy General Director, the implementation of the Construction Control information management system of CDS made it possible to reduce the construction and installation costs by 15%, as well as to accelerate the corrective actions.
“The introduction of the system provided us with an extra management control tool. For instance, a contractor will not be able to mark the scope of work as completed if it has not taken the corrective actions according to the technical supervision comments. They are displayed in the Construction Control program of CDS and are visible to all process participants. Therefore, the progress of works and corrective actions may be evaluated at any time. Photographic evidence and instant data display in the system make it possible to resolve all points at issue as quickly as possible. “The payback period of investments into the development of the Construction Control information management system was six months,” Venera Khadeeva said.
The Head of the State Construction Supervision and Expert Examination Service of St. Petersburg also discussed with the developer representatives the need for skilled staff. As highlighted by the CDS Group Deputy General Director, the company is interested in recruiting specialists due to progressive development and the launch of new projects.
“We use different channels to find and attract talents,” Venera Khadeeva said. “First of all, we train professionals in‐house, giving talented employees the opportunity to move up the career ladder. We also pay attention to reaching young people. CDS Group has founded and organizes for the fifth time the all‐Russian professional competition ‘ARKHproekt’ for students and graduates of architectural universities. The winners and prize takers of the competition do an internship in our company. We continue further cooperation with some of them on a commercial basis. In addition, every year we invite student construction teams from all over Russia to our sites. Some of the participants join our company as qualified specialists after graduating from universities.”
As a result of the meeting, it was agreed that CDS Group’s expertise in technical supervision digitalization needed to be studied by the representatives of the State Construction Supervision and Expert Examination Service of St. Petersburg more thoroughly.
Commissioning of the first stage of the Chornaya Rechka business class residential quarter is scheduled for the 3rd quarter of 2021.
